Electric Traction Means tractive action carried out in a track along with the help of electricity. Electric Traction is divided into three Subdivision  such as

1)      Substation

2)       Feeding post

3)       Sectioning And Paralleling Post  

4)      Subsection and Paralleling Post

5)       Elementary Section.

 In electric Traction induction motors are used nowadays. In Early year ago D.C. Motor are preferred for this operation. For this DC Power is required. Rectification is necessary so Large size of thyristor are used.

  Now three Phase A.C. Supply is used. Railway Centre Receives  power from generation Company 132 KV Supply. At Substation it is converted into 25KV 50 Hz. Now “ FACTS “ Transmission system is used for rails.
